STROOD COMMUNITY SHOP CIC

Strood Community Shop offers affordable second-hand goods and donates profits to five local charities picked by the community: Rochester Skate Park, Young Medway, North Kent Mind, Kent Cruse Bereavement Care, and Club Ausome.

Additionally, the shop has a Chatty Corner where people can enjoy coffee and chat. And also organize weekly crafting sessions, like the Knit and Knatter meetups, and provide opportunities for young people to gain work experience and apprenticeships.

Social Impact

Primarily we raise money to fund community initiatives. Our charities are nominated by the people of the Strood, and every penny of profit we raise goes back to these charities, to be invested in the local community. Our Chatty Corner project aims to tackle social isolation and loneliness. Anybody can come and get involved in an activity for free.
